may 2010

The crave album got mixed at the shack, at the beginning of may. its a great album. i'm really pleased with how it turned out. we had it mastered in nashville by richard dodd who also did the kings of leon 'only by night' album which we all love. the album is called 'The frontline' check it out.

after crave i mixed and played guitar and some keys on a track for a south african songwriter now living in northern ireland called braam ackermann.

my next project of the year was another live project for mark tedder. i recorded his last album a couple of years ago in beijing, china. this project was another cd/dvd but this time we were recording in cathedrals throughout europe. the challenge was to get together a mobile recording rig, small enough to haul around europe with all the bands gear in the back of a transit van, but something that will still give me an excellent sounding result.

This is the system i put together, and recorded into Logic on my macbook, using the m-audio profire lightbridge interface.


we started off the tour with a rehearsal day in croydon, london, on may 20th. the first concert was in lincoln cathedral uk on may 21st , then Lisieux france may 22nd, Florence italy may 24th and finally prague czech republic may 26th. mark and carrie tedder always have a great team of people around them and it was a very enjoyable tour. my first time on the road in about 6 months since delirious had called it a day in november last year.
