july and august 2009

we started the ian yates album the first week of july. ian came down from liverpool with his demos, and we transferred everyhting to pro-tools and worked from there on song arrangements. we had all the tracks programmed up so we put some guitars down, and some vocals and then went into icc studio 1 with drummer tim cooke for a couple of days to track drums.

i worked with ian the rest of that month apart from a few days out with delirious in san antonio, texas usa.

the first week of august i went off to record the newday live album again for survivor records and then headed back home for some overdubs and fixes.

sam cox took this photo in the shack while doing some keyboard overdubs on matt redman's tracks on the newday album. I mixed that record at the end of august. That was the first mix i did in the new studio and it came out sounding great.
