january to march 2006
2006. its looking like a hectic year. I got back from christmas in ireland, and straight into the spring harvest new songs album for icc records which i was co-producing with my good friend dave lynch. we worked very long hours on this one together and after only 6 days it was sounding great. it was all sown up by january 21st.
on jan 26 I headed off with the delirious boys to New Zealand, australia, indonesia, singapore and malaysia. That was a great time. probably the highlight for me was the morning we had off in kuala-lumpa, when matt and i headed off to find the petronus twin towers only to find a huge queue and a 3 hour wait for the lift. We headed off for another tower in the same area where the views of the city were amazing and the views of the twin towers even better.

I was back on feb 6th and straight back into the studio again with nigel briggs and his band of merry men from nottingham, producing their 2nd album for vineyard records. I really enjoyed working with them on their first album 'hold on', so i was really pleased they called me when it was time for album number 2 which ended up being called 'unfailing love'. again a very enjoyable session and great album was the result finishing on march 12th. these guys really push themselves in the studio and it shows in the final product.
the end of february also saw me trade in my old pro-tools tdm rig for a new hd2 accel system. i was sorry to see the old one go. a lot of good projects were recorded and mixed on it, but the new system is superb and sounds even better.
